Open methodology

How we rate
providers.

We can't test every provider ourselves. So we read what lots of other people have experienced – on review platforms, in app stores, forums and tests – and turn it into an honest rating with sources and dates.

The banknote scale

1 to 5 banknotes, five categories.

Half banknotes are allowed. 4 means 'mostly good, with named limitations', 3 'mixed', 2 'mostly problematic'.

Category
PayoutsDoes the money arrive reliably and on time?Payouts consistently reported, usually within a few working days, low thresholdFrequent reports of missing, withheld or badly delayed payouts
Time valueWhat's left per hour once screen-outs, searching and waiting count?Reported effective rates typically €10 an hour or moreTypically under €1 an hour, or mostly unpaid screen-outs
Task supplyIs there regularly something to do in Germany?Tasks available daily for most usersRare, long waiting lists, heavily profile-dependent
Getting startedHow high are the hurdles to get going?Sign-up in minutes, no ID check, a phone is enoughWaiting list, ID, special equipment or proof of a registered business
Fairness & supportHow fair are bans, rejections and support?Few complaints, clear rules, reachable supportMany reports of arbitrary bans, reduced balances, no support
01

Review platforms & app stores

Trustpilot, Google Play, the App Store and similar platforms – always with score, number of reviews, scope and capture date.

02

Experience reports & communities

Reddit, forums and hands-on reports with traceable time and earnings figures. Single voices never carry a rating on their own.

03

Independent tests & studies

Consumer advice centres, Stiftung Warentest, Fairwork, academic studies. Each finding counts only for the question it actually examined.

04

Provider documents

Terms, help pages and FAQs show what's supposed to apply. We use them for 'getting started' and as a cross-check – never alone for fairness or time value.

Rule 01

Our own words, not copies

We read reviews and summarise them ourselves. We don't copy review texts and we don't scrape platforms automatically.

Rule 02

At least two sources

Every category needs at least two independent pieces of evidence, including a larger review source or an editorial test. Otherwise it says 'Not enough data'.

Rule 03

An overall rating only with substance

The overall rating is the average of the rated categories, rounded to half a banknote – and only appears once four categories are rated.

Rule 04

Show the conflicts

When the homepage, help pages and terms give different numbers, we show all of them. We don't pick the nicer one.

Rule 05

Tested by us = marked separately

A hands-on test of our own gets its own badge and its own review with date, time spent and real proof of payout. Banknotes from public sources stay separate.

Rule 06

Are the reviews genuine?

We can't verify whether individual reviews on other platforms come from real users. The platforms are responsible for that with their own procedures. Public reviews also aren't representative – annoyed people are more likely to write one.

Sorting rule

There is no paid-for winner.

The homepage and 'All options' are sorted by overall banknote rating, then alphabetically; entries without an overall rating come last. The comparison shows the most recently checked providers first, with banknotes deciding when the dates match, and you can also sort it by banknotes alone. Commissions are never a factor, and a request from a provider changes neither listing nor rating. If we use partner links in future, they'll be labelled right at the link.
