EchtVerdient rating

What public experiences say about Clickworker.

Easy to access, but across sources pay per hour and the handling of locked accounts consistently come out weak.

Overall5 of 5 categories · 12 sources · as of 16 Oct 2026
  1. Payouts

Does the money arrive reliably and on time?

    Moderate evidence

Weekly payment runs and payout from 10 € work according to many accounts, and long-time users confirm punctual payment. Against that stand reports of balances withheld after deactivation and money lost to upload errors.

  2. Time value

What's left per hour once screen-outs, searching and waiting count?

    Moderate evidence

Several independent sources, from the ILO to journalists to 2026 accounts, land at roughly 2 to 3 €/h. Most numbers date from 2016 to 2018; 2026 offers only individual cases that back the picture.

  3. Task supply

Is there regularly something to do in Germany?

    Moderate evidence

Tasks exist but vary widely, depend on qualifications and often carry inaccurate time estimates. Missing tasks were already the top complaint in 2017; one account reached 36 hours of work in four weeks.

  4. Getting started

How high are the hurdles to get going?

    Moderate evidence

Registration via app or browser is free with no waitlist. Deductions: tax details are required for payout, access varies by country, qualification tests apply, and some restrictions such as a VPN ban.

  5. Fairness & support

How fair are bans, rejections and support?

    Strong evidence

Fairwork gives 1 out of 10, Trustpilot sits at 2.3 to 2.4 across more than 3,000 reviews, and several sources report automatic suspensions, withheld balances and missing support. An older survey rated communication better and Google Play scores higher.

What people often praise

  • Tasks without a waitlist, also via app
  • Weekly payment runs with payout from 10 €
  • German headquarters per the provider site

What people often criticise

  • Very low effective hourly pay of around 2 to 3 €
  • Automatic suspensions and withheld balances reported
  • Fairwork 1/10, Trustpilot 2.3–2.4
Heads-up
  • Several reports describe automatic account suspensions in which earned balances were withheld. Before bigger tasks, weigh the time against the pay.

How the rating is made: we read public reviews, experience reports and tests and summarise them in our own words. We can't verify whether individual reviews on those platforms come from genuine users; the platforms themselves are responsible for that. Commissions have no influence on the rating. No statistically documented topic analysis was adopted; only the score, review volume and complete distribution are shown.

Methodological limitation: Source discrepancy: the German profile page shows 2.4 across 3,181 reviews, while a search-index snapshot of the international profile from 3 Oct 2026 shows 2.3 across 3,193; treat 2.3–2.4 as the working range. App-store ratings mainly assess the app and are not averaged with this signal. Figure taken from the public profile; see the capture date above.

Fair Crowd Work / IG Metall · 2017

Historical worker survey

Finding: The survey reported a €2.92 median and €3.84 average per active working hour; more than 40% were below €2.50.

Does not establish: The survey is almost a decade old, excludes search and waiting time, and the public page gives no clear sample size. It is not a current earnings figure.

Search note: Fairwork 2025 is currently documented (retrieved again on 15 Oct 2026); a search of Stiftung Warentest and German consumer advice organisations on 15 Oct 2026 found no provider-specific test. Historical figures remain visibly dated and are not used as a current earnings forecast.
