LifePoints
honestly rated.

A large international survey panel from the Kantar group with a low redemption threshold (a 5 € gift card) and quick reward delivery. Against that: a thin 2 €/h or so in the only test that tracked time, and many reports of accounts suspended right at cash-out, taking every point with them.

At a glance

Suits you if you do the odd survey on the side, cash out from 5 € and never let a balance pile up.

Watch out for: LifePoints can close your account without explanation, and 90 days without a survey can get you suspended; either way, every point is gone.

Payout
PayPal credit (verified PayPal account required) · E-gift cards, e.g. Amazon, Zalando, MediaMarkt, IKEA · Donation to charities
Threshold
The smallest reward is a 5 € gift card for 550 LifePoints (provider's FAQ blog; a test from 10/2026 confirms 550 LP). PayPal costs more points: two tests report about 600 LP for 5 €, a British test 575 LP for £5. There is no public German price list; it sits in the members' area. Donations from 1 €. The rewards terms rule out cash outright; PayPal credit counts as a reward there.
Timing
The German help centre says rewards arrive within 5 days; in myStipendium's test (on a British account) the PayPal money landed after 4 days. Before that, the rewards terms allow up to 30 days for points to be credited after a survey. Changing your email or password blocks redemption for 7 working days.

EchtVerdient rating

What public experiences say about LifePoints.

A serious company and quick small payouts, but little per hour and a real risk of being shown the door at cash-out, balance and all: at most a side panel where you grab every 5 € the moment you can.

Overall5 of 5 categories · 13 sources · as of 16 Oct 2026
  1. Payouts

Does the money arrive reliably and on time?

    Moderate evidence

When a redemption goes through, it is quick: from 5 € as a gift card, within 5 days according to the help centre, and 4 days to PayPal in a test. Yet Trustpilot, SurveyPolice and a German user forum show a recurring pattern of accounts locked right at cash-out with the points kept; the Trustpilot score slipped from 3.7 to 3.2 in 2026.

  2. Time value

What's left per hour once screen-outs, searching and waiting count?

    Thin evidence

The only test with a time log came to just under 2 €/h, with 2-point screen-outs and surveys running a third over their announced length; it was, however, run on a British account. A German comparison site quotes 0.25–1.50 € for surveys of mostly 10–20 minutes, without timing anything itself.

  3. Task supply

Is there regularly something to do in Germany?

    Thin evidence

Reports range from several invitations a week to 4–10 a month. On Trustpilot and Google Play some members describe far fewer surveys in 2025/2026, and newcomers mention days with nothing at all; there are no counts for German accounts.

  4. Getting started

How high are the hurdles to get going?

    Moderate evidence

Free, done in a few minutes, in the browser or the app, with no ID at sign-up. You do have to hand over name, date of birth, address and phone number, you can only take part from your country of residence, and LifePoints may ask for extra proof of identity if something looks off. The minimum age is 14, 16 or 18 depending on the source.

  5. Fairness & support

How fair are bans, rejections and support?

    Moderate evidence

The terms allow accounts to be closed without explanation and all points forfeited, the rewards terms say you are not told when points are cancelled, and the second review is final. Trustpilot, a German forum, SurveyPolice and myStipendium all describe suspensions shortly before or at redemption with no specific reason given, citing security. For smaller issues, such as a missing gift card code, plenty of members praise support.

What people often praise

  • Low redemption threshold: a 5 € gift card from 550 LifePoints
  • PayPal, many well-known gift cards and donations from 1 €
  • Rewards within 5 days according to the help centre, 4 days in a test
  • Small consolation points for screen-outs; points and length shown before you start
  • A large market-research group behind it

What people often criticise

  • Just under 2 €/h in the only test that measured time
  • Many reports of suspensions at cash-out with points forfeited
  • Accounts can be closed without explanation, and the decision is final
  • Suspension after 90 days without a survey, with no notice
  • Log in only from your home country; access from abroad can trigger a ban
  • PayPal costs more points than gift cards
Heads-up
  • Many reports of accounts suspended exactly at redemption; under the terms all points are then forfeited and no reasons are given. Don't build up a balance; cash out from 550 LP.
  • Go 90 days without a survey (or skip one in your first 30 days) and you risk suspension and losing your points; Lightspeed does not warn you.
  • Accessing the service from another country, even on holiday, can lead to immediate suspension under the terms.

What the provider and reports actually say.

Every item has a source and a date. Where sources contradict each other, we show the conflict instead of picking the nicer number.

Operator
Lightspeed LLC, 3 World Trade Center, 175 Greenwich Street, New York, described as a Kantar group company (terms, last updated 20 Feb 2024). The company name varies by source: the German FAQ blog says Lightspeed Research Limited (same New York address), and the App Store lists Lightspeed Online Research LLC in Warren, New Jersey, as the trader. ↗
Ultimate owner
According to Kantar's 2025 annual report, LifePoints is the in-house panel of its Profiles division. Kantar is 60 % owned by Bain Capital and 40 % by WPP; the ultimate controlling party is the Bain Capital Europe Fund V. ↗
Possible change of owner
According to an M&A news service (22 Aug 2026), WPP and Bain Capital plan to sell Kantar entirely, in two stages starting in autumn 2026. What this means for LifePoints is open; the terms provide for accounts to be carried over if ownership changes. ↗
Stay active or lose your points
Skip surveys for the first 30 days after joining, or for any 90 days after that, and your account may be suspended; suspension or closure forfeits every point. According to the rewards terms (updated 4 Jul 2025), Lightspeed does not notify you when points are cancelled. ↗
90-day expiry in the official FAQ
The German FAQ page 'Wie funktioniert' confirms expiry after 30 or 90 days. The German wording is a muddled translation that seems to say points expire even if you are active; the UK version means inactivity within any 90-day period. Sources conflict: two comparison sites instead cite 12 months of inactivity, one adds a 3-year limit; the provider's pages say neither. ↗
Closure without giving reasons
Lightspeed may close accounts at its discretion, at any time and without giving reasons; all points and rewards are then forfeited. There is a 'right of second review' with a reply within 30 days, possibly requiring proof of identity; the decision is final and Lightspeed decides how much detail you get. ↗
Only from your home country
You may only sign up in the country where you live. According to the terms, accessing the service from another country can get the account suspended immediately, explicitly including while on holiday. Sign-up asks for name, date of birth, home address, phone number and email; one account per person. ↗
PayPal conditions
PayPal rewards need a verified PayPal account with a confirmed bank account. You can link at most two PayPal accounts, and a link cannot be removed once made. ↗
Reward delivery
According to the help centre, rewards arrive by email within 5 days; after that you are asked to contact support with the order ID. ↗
Crediting and missing points
Points are credited up to 30 days after a survey. You have to report missing points yourself within two months; the rewards terms exclude Lightspeed's liability for booking errors. ↗
Trustpilot
3.2 out of 5 from 45,070 reviews, 66 % five-star and 15 % one-star (checked 16 Oct 2026). An older snapshot (newest review March 2026) still showed 3.7 from 44,501; the score has dropped noticeably during 2026. ↗
Editorial test with time log
myStipendium (17–23 Sep 2026, one tester): 14 surveys, 52 LP on average, just under 2 €/h; 5 of 14 surveys ended in a screen-out worth 2 LP each; surveys ran a third longer than announced on average; rating 3.5 out of 5. Caveat: the test account was in the UK, and euro amounts were converted. ↗
App ratings
App Store Germany 4.3 out of 5 from 2,686 ratings; Google Play 4.5 from about 208,000 reviews (scope probably global, not clear-cut). ↗

What we don't know for sure (yet).

  • How many points does a PayPal payout cost in Germany right now (550, 575 or 600 LP for 5 €)? The price list is only visible in the members' area.
  • There is no time-value test on a German account; the only test with a time log ran in the UK.
  • What share of accounts gets suspended? There are only individual reports, no figure. LifePoints says it only suspends for rule breaches; that cannot be verified from outside.
  • Why did the Trustpilot score fall from 3.7 to 3.2 during 2026? The live value was read only through a cross-check tool and should be checked again before publishing.
  • Which minimum age is binding in Germany (14, 16 or 18)? The terms name no specific German rule.
  • Why does the help centre ask for PayPal verification even for non-PayPal rewards? Only the article's title was readable, not its text.
  • Who will own LifePoints after the planned sale of Kantar, and will the terms change?
