uTest (Applause)
honestly rated.

Crowdtesting paid by approved result rather than by time: only approved bug reports and test cases earn money, paid twice a month, but income is unpredictable and reviews can take weeks.

At a glance

For you if you like hunting bugs and can accept irregular income that depends on results.

Watch out for: Only approved reports are paid, review can take weeks, and invitations arrive irregularly.

Payout
PayPal · Payoneer · Bank transfer (Wise)
Threshold
Payoneer from 2 US dollars per period (third-party source); other thresholds not checked.
Timing
Twice a month, on the 15th and the last day; payout depends on the approval of your reports, and review can take weeks according to reports.

EchtVerdient rating

What public experiences say about uTest (Applause).

Legitimate and useful for practice, but too unpredictable to count on for income.

Overall5 of 5 categories · 9 sources · as of 16 Oct 2026

  1. Payouts

Does the money arrive reliably and on time?

    Moderate evidence

Payment dates on the 15th and month-end are clear and most reports confirm payment, though a few testers report money not arriving after weeks.

  2. Time value

What's left per hour once screen-outs, searching and waiting count?

    Thin evidence

Reports describe roughly 1.25 to 50 dollars per report or cycle and an hourly return that erodes through setup, duplicates and review time; there is no solid hourly figure in euros.

  3. Task supply

Is there regularly something to do in Germany?

    Moderate evidence

One source counts 18 projects for Germany, while others say invitations are hard to get and unevenly distributed.

  4. Getting started

How high are the hurdles to get going?

    Moderate evidence

Free sign-up from 18 with a free Academy, but some practice cycles are unpaid and matching devices are required.

  5. Fairness & support

How fair are bans, rejections and support?

    Moderate evidence

Glassdoor and Trustpilot are good overall, but reports mention rejections without clear reasons and unreachable support.

How the rating is made: we read public reviews, experience reports and tests and summarise them in our own words. We can't verify whether individual reviews on those platforms come from genuine users; the platforms themselves are responsible for that. Commissions have no influence on the rating.
