Sales proceeds · Money for things you already ownSelling used stuff

Wirkaufens
honestly rated.

A buy-back portal for used electronics with free shipping and free returns: sale proceeds for your own devices (not income, not savings). Prices have mostly been mid-table in comparisons, and the large review profiles say processing is often quick, but deductions after inspection and late payouts are documented again and again.

At a glance

Fits you if you want to sell a phone, tablet, camera or console without listings or haggling, and you document its condition carefully.

Watch out for: The price is only final after inspection, deductions (for example over the battery) are often disputed, and there is no arbitration body to turn to.

Payout
Bank transfer (EU accounts only) · PayPal · Credit with partners (per the terms; details shown during the sale)
Threshold
The terms set no payout threshold; according to the trusted.de test there is no minimum sale value either (except for some voucher promotions). Cash is not an option.
Timing
Provider: 3 to 5 working days after the device arrives, if your description was accurate; the exact date is in the contract confirmation. Under the terms, Wirkaufens has up to 7 days from arrival to accept or decline. Source conflict: the consoles page says 7 days after inspection. Reports from 2025 and 2026 describe considerably longer waits in some cases.

EchtVerdient rating

What public experiences say about Wirkaufens.

A convenient route for electronics that often goes smoothly, but only with airtight documentation and a price check elsewhere first.

Overall4 of 5 categories · 17 sources · as of 16 Oct 2026
  1. Payouts

Does the money arrive reliably and on time?

    Moderate evidence
  2. Time value

What's left per hour once screen-outs, searching and waiting count?

    Not enough data

Instead of a value of time: fill in the questionnaire, pack, ship within 7 days and, if a counter-offer comes, push back or decline. There is no documented time figure or hourly value, so no rating.

  3. Task supply

Is there regularly something to do in Germany?

    Thin evidence

A broad electronics range that reaches lenses and graphics cards, but picky about models: comparison tests got offers for only 13 of 20 phones and 17 of 30 devices. Prices are mostly mid-table, sometimes top for cameras. The test data is more than a year old.

  4. Getting started

How high are the hurdles to get going?

    Moderate evidence

A price online in a few clicks, a free shipping label, no ID check in the terms (proof of origin only in individual cases), payout by bank or PayPal. Points off for the short 7-day shipping window, insurance only up to 500 EUR and no app or pickup (independent information as of 2022).

  5. Fairness & support

How fair are bans, rejections and support?

    Moderate evidence

Trustpilot is good overall, but only 10 % of complaints get a reply, and in 2025 the profile carried a notice about invitation methods. Smaller portals are clearly negative: disputed deductions, battery ratings below the provider's own 80 % line, kept accessories, damage after return. The company declines consumer arbitration.

What people often praise

  • Free shipping both ways
  • No minimum sale value
  • Wide electronics range, strong on cameras
  • Payout by bank or PayPal

What people often criticise

  • Post-inspection deductions often disputed
  • Payouts repeatedly late in 2025/2026
  • Shipping insured only up to 500 EUR
  • No consumer arbitration, support hard to reach
Heads-up
  • Before shipping, photograph or film the device, battery health, accessories and packaging; include only the accessories the form asks for.
  • Insure devices worth more than 500 EUR yourself; the label only covers 500 EUR.
  • If payment does not arrive, send a written reminder with a deadline; there is no arbitration body to fall back on.

How the rating is made: we read public reviews, experience reports and tests and summarise them in our own words. We can't verify whether individual reviews on those platforms come from genuine users; the platforms themselves are responsible for that. Commissions have no influence on the rating. Facts with sources

What the provider and reports actually say.

Every item has a source and a date. Where sources contradict each other, we show the conflict instead of picking the nicer number.

Type of money
Sale proceeds for your own used electronics at the company's buy-back price. Not pay for your time, not savings. ↗
Operator
asgoodasnew electronics GmbH, Frankfurt (Oder), HRB 12158 FF. The same company resells refurbished devices in its asgoodasnew shop. The managing directors in the current legal notice differ from names in 2025 case reports; probably a change, not checked further. ↗
What they buy
Electronics only: phones, tablets, MacBooks and Macs, smartwatches, consoles, notebooks, cameras, lenses, audio, graphics cards and more. Excluded are devices without a readable serial number or CE mark, fakes, modified devices and devices with a SIM lock or other locks. ↗
Process and deadlines
Describe the condition in a questionnaire, submit a binding sale, and the device must arrive within 7 days (daily price). Wirkaufens inspects it and may open it. If the condition differs, you get a new offer that stays valid for 14 days; without your explicit acceptance there is no contract and the device goes back. ↗
Shipping and returns
Inbound shipping with the provider's label is free but insured only up to 500 EUR; more cover is at your own expense. You carry the transport risk until delivery. Returns after a declined counter-offer are free within Germany. ↗
Battery criterion
Provider page on the iPhone 11: the battery should hold at least 80 % of its original capacity. Source conflict: several user reports (Trustpilot, Trusted Shops) describe deductions for supposedly faulty batteries at 80 to 88 %. ↗
Accessories
Per the terms, pack only the device and the accessories the form asks about. Several 2026 reports say packaging, cables or cases did not come back after a rejection. ↗
Data deletion
Backing up and wiping is your job. Wirkaufens resets devices and advertises certified erasure (Blancco), but its terms say complete deletion cannot be guaranteed. The consumer advice centre recommends removing all data and accounts and doing a factory reset before shipping. ↗
Dispute resolution
According to its legal notice and terms, the company does not take part in proceedings before a consumer arbitration body. ↗
Price level (editorial comparison)
trusted.de, January 2025: 20 phones checked, Wirkaufens made offers for 13, averaging 191.51 EUR, and was top only once. ZOXS averaged 263.68 EUR, reBuy 190.38 EUR. PC-Welt (2022) found Wirkaufens highest in 2 of 6 samples. Both compare quoted offers, not amounts actually paid out. ↗
Trustpilot
4.3 out of 5 from 8,645 reviews (search-index snapshot, roughly late March 2026). The provider replied to 10 % of negative reviews. In 2025 the profile carried a notice about possibly unsupported invitation methods; whether it is still there is unclear. ↗
Other review portals
eKomi 4.7 from 3,709 reviews in the last 12 months (a seal commissioned by the provider). By contrast, Trusted Shops shows 1.25 from 31 and trusted.de customers 1.4 from 34 reviews, both criticising deductions, radio silence and missing accessories. Small samples, not representative. ↗
Documented cases, October 2025
The association VD Verbraucherschutz Deutschland online e.V. published two cases: confirmed PayPal payouts failed to arrive, blamed on a technical fault. After the cases were forwarded to the provider, the money arrived the same day and two days later respectively. A comment signed customer service places the fault in its own PayPal payout system (authorship not verified). ↗
